ECOPACK is a new Insulator packaging solution initiative at ORIENT. Realizing “weatherproof packaging” would only increase waste and packaging costs, we quickly set our sights on Reusable Packaging options.

Insulator packaging solution details:
ECOPACK is a new packaging initiative at ORIENT. In collaboration with Utility Customers and our Distribution Partner, we are working to do our part in reducing waste and protecting our fragile environment. Recently a local GTA Utility Customer inquired about special packaging that would be suitable for outdoor storage of Orient.

Realizing “weatherproof packaging” would only increase waste and packaging costs, we quickly set our sights on Reusable Packaging options. The requirements were clear. Our Customers expected durable packaging for outdoor storage. We wanted to reduce packaging waste and provide superior product protection, while at the same time, improve material handling and workflow for our Customers.

Our investigations led us to a local supplier of Reusable, Collapsible, Bulk Containers which met the requirements perfectly. ECOPACK containers are made from 100% recyclable materials in ISO 14001-certified manufacturing facilities. The containers are sized to accommodate forty-two K-LINE Line Post Insulators. Dunnage (separation system) in the ECOPACK containers protects the insulators from damage during material handling and transportation.

Customer reaction is very favorable and encouraging. Electrical Utilities lead by example in energy efficiency and environmental protection initiatives. ECOPACK waste reduction benefits strongly support our Customers commitment to the communities they serve and the world we live in. They have developed an innovative sales and marketing strategy to help Customers, leverage the many features, advantages and benefits of switching to ECOPACK for packaging and delivery of ORIENT products.
