Power insulator is a very important component in the electric power systems such as sub-stations and distribution & transmission lines. Power insulator development history is not so long.
Power insulator development history:
In the early days, insulators were made of ceramic and glass materials. But in 1963, polymeric insulator was developed and its improvements in design and manufacturing in the recent years have made them attractive to utilities.
Power insulator in silicone rubber consists of a fiberglass core rod covered by weathersheds of skirts of polymer such as silicone rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene, EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) and equipped with metal end fittings. It is also called polymer insulator, which means made of at least two insulating parts – a core and housing equipped with end fittings. Polymeric insulator has many advantages over the ceramic and glass insulators such as good performance in contaminated environment, light weight, easy handling, maintenance free, and considerably low cost etc. Because of these properties it is gaining popularity worldwide and replacing the conventional ceramic and glass insulator.
Orient Power, with strong researching and developing capability, mainly produces 10-1000kV series power insulator. We are a high-tech enterprise which integrates insulator design, production and sales into a whole body. Our power insulator products are all according to relative international standard and we have been proved by certification of ISO9001.
Our main power insulator products are high voltage polymer insulator, including long rod suspension polymer insulator, pin type polymer insulator, polymer cross arm insulator, polymer post insulator, polymer bushing, and polymer insulator for electric railways. Assembly power insulator products include polymer arrester, cut-out and disconnecting switch.
